Narrative Description of Project:

 

 

The project offered necessary technical support needed to establish the basic foundation of software industry in Egyptian Rural Governorates. The target was to establish professional groups capable of competing internationally and to market the products of this industry to the Arab and foreign market.

 

The project also provided the experience with what other countries got when they first entered the race for effective competition in this field. The project included technical and economic feasibility study to direct surplus manpower forces in some selected governorates toward establishing software industry capable of competing outside the territory of Egypt. The analysis also covered the studying of the domestic market and available manpower resources that can be employed in this industry in the following Governorates: Beni Suef and Fayoum (Upper Egypt) and Kaliobia and Sharkia (Delta Region). This was besides carrying out field study of international markets that have the ability to import the products and services created by this industry.

 

Description of Actual Services:

 

The project provided consulting services, together with technical and financial feasibility studies for establishing Information Technology Industry in rural governorates. The project comprised extensive field trips, interviews, as well as conducting surveys to assess local conditions and the readiness of graduates at these governorates to join this industry.
